Aims and objectives
To describe the delivery of investigation and treatments of patients with urological cancer within Scotland and audit these in terms of outcome. It is envisaged that this should form a basis for the implementation of any future clinical guidelines produced for the management of urological cancer.
In particular this audit will:
- Identify variations in clinical practice in investigation and treatment of urological cancer in Scotland
- Identify good and inappropriate practice, where possible based on clinical outcomes and identify possible reasons for these
- Identify areas which require further development of clinical standards in this group of tumours
- Provide the basis for quality assurance and information for the development of clinical standards in this group of tumours (links via Scottish Cancer Group to NHS QIS).
